We are two family run NHS dental practices based in the Corstorphine and East Craigs areas of Edinburgh. We are committed to providing high quality NHS family dental care, which always includes a free check-up. As well as providing great general and preventative care, we also offer a fantastic range of cosmetic treatments.
Our friendly and welcoming team provide exceptional dentistry for all members of the family. The majority of our patients come to us following a recommendation from an existing patient.
If you are looking for the convenience of dental appointments before work, our first appointment is at 8:15am each day, Monday to Friday. We also offer late appointments, with the last check-up at 6:15pm Monday to Thursday. Unlike many practices in the area, we are always open on Friday afternoons until 4.45pm.
The Scottish Government has announced that the range of treatments which NHS dentists can offer will be increased from 1 November 2020. The Scottish Government has, however, publicly acknowledged that it will not be business as usual because the number of appointments available each day must be strictly limited.
Restrictions relating to ensuring social distancing, PPE and decontamination remain strictly in place in our Practice for the protection of our patients and staff. These restrictions, put in place by the Scottish Government for all NHS dental practices, include not being permitted to use all our surgeries at present and also the need to leave a surgery fallow (empty) for a set period after every treatment generating aerosols (e.g. involving drilling & spray) before enhanced cleaning is undertaken and the surgery can be used again. As you can imagine these measures have a huge impact on the number of available appointments, hence why we cannot provide our normal level of service.
We have been working to the maximum permitted capacity since we re-opened in June and will continue to do so in order to do the absolute best for our patients. We have appointments available every day for those in pain or needing urgent treatment, but all patients phoning our reception will need to speak to a triaging dentist before visiting the Practice so we can identify those in most urgent need.
The Deputy Chief Dental Officer for Scotland has provided this short video explaining the current situation:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMJpD43PqIU

Thanks for your continued support,
